Here are 12 tips to improve your cybersecurity at home...

1. Use Strong, Unique Passwords Avoid reusing passwords. Combine uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols — or use a memorable passphrase.

2. Enable Two-Factor Authentication Always activate 2FA for an extra layer of security beyond just a password.

3. Keep Software and Devices Updated Regularly install updates on your apps, browser, phone, and computer to fix security holes.

4.Phishing Scams - Don’t click suspicious links or open attachments from unknown sources. Always verify senders.

5. Use Trusted Security Software Install antivirus or anti-malware tools and keep them updated to help detect and block threats.

6. Be Cautious with Public Wi-Fi Avoid logging into sensitive accounts on public Wi-Fi.

7. Secure Your Devices Use passwords, PINs, or biometrics fingerprint and face recognition to lock your devices.

8. Back Up Your Data Regularly Save copies of important files to an external hard drive or a secure cloud service.

9. Monitor Your Accounts Review your bank, email, and social media accounts for unusual activity. Set up alerts when possible.

10. Limit smart device permissions - disable remote access features on smart devices when not required.
